AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a bizarre collaboration that defies usual expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The unexpected holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing free extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Adventure Revealed

According to the authorized release, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her friend from a hidden cult.

The adventure centers on "strange trials and a monstrous adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Transformations

The teaser highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Additional Content

Players who finish the mission will acquire an exclusive katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Mikasa costume for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Content

This update also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade characteristic techniques: Naoe debuts a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may ultimately clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

The series formerly included a 2020 crossover story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
